3 tips to building a better wardrobe in 2024.
Avoid trends.
Tends are exactly that- TRENDS! Don’t rely on them this coming year to create a wardrobe you love. Odds are, you’ll relish the trend while it’s trending and wonder why you bought it the next season. Stick to what you know you like and explore how to create more of that. If there is a trend you’re looking to try, see if you can borrow from a friend or recreate it with something you already own before rushing to buy.
Focus on how you feel.
No matter what, the most important thing in your closet is the way you feel. You won’t be able to be confident in something that doesn’t feel like it portrays you accurately. Whether it’s too tight, too loose, the sleeves are awkward, etc., if you don’t love it, that’s OKAY but it’s not okay to accept it into your wardrobe if it’s not maximizing functionality or versatility within your personal style and/or lifestyle.
Wear what you own.
Before rushing to buy a whole new wardrobe this season, try wearing what you own first. What you have is the best indicator of what you need. Spend some time with your existing clothes to see what you have and how you can make the most of them, so when you do go shopping, you know what items will complement the pieces you already know and love.
