Lazy Girls, Listen Up
Want to look your best with minimal effort? It's not hard... here's the secret.
If you’re anything like me, you have more lazy days than not when it comes to getting ready.
Whether it’s a day in the office or I’m out and about, there are days I definitely don’t have the energy to spend too much time in my closet. But the same problem kept occurring before my capsule wardrobe, I never felt great about what I was wearing on the days I was in a rush or low energy.
Then I discovered my outfit formula.
An outfit formula is your personal recipe for a complete look; every. single. time. This not only makes you feel better about how you look, but you also elevate your confidence & increase productivity.
Everyone’s outfit formula is different. It’s a personalized formula tailored to your personal style and lifestyle needs, making getting ready on those lazy days comfortable AND cute.
Steal My Formula:
Mood + Location + Weather
Base + Layers + Shoes
Mood determines my base.
For me, there is nothing worse than being in a dress when all I want is to be in sweatpants. Every morning, I consider the mood I’m in to dictate the base of my outfit so I can maximize comfort for my day. Meaning, if I want sweatpants but need to go to the office, I find my most comfortable sweatpants alternative; this could be either leggings, drawstring pants, or mom jeans. If I’m in the mood to step out that day, I’ll opt for patterned/colored pants or a skirt/dress for ambience.
Location determines my layers.
Depending on where I’m off to, a dress code may apply. Sometimes I need to air on the more conservative side (work), others are a date night out where I may want to show a little more skin. Either way, there are plenty of options to layer a base with both clothes & accessories. Layering is done best with different dimensions, textures, and accessories; get creative by mixing and matching what you currently have to find some go-to pairs you can opt for on your busy days.
Weather determines my shoes.
Considering both the weather and what I’m doing to is where I end my look. Is it a rainy day or will I be busy running around running errands? Evaluating all factors dictate the shoe I opt for. Quick Tip: as fashion has evolved, shoes can be one of the most versatile parts of your wardrobe. White sneakers can be paired with a business casual outfit when done correctly; don’t be afraid to get creative and work outside your comfort zone.
